MRS Carolyn Townsley

I am an experienced mediator having trained in 2015 at the London School of Mediation. My professional background is in education as a senior teaching professional. I have spent over 35 years as a secondary school teacher of art and design. I have vast experience working with young people of all abilities but especailly  those with extra needs. My teaching has always involved creating programmes for individuals that tap into the ways they learn best. I have also used mediation widely within schools to introduce young people to its posiblities .

There  is also a growing need to support parents with special needs provison - something I have been extensively involved with. 

I have undertaken a range of community mediations over the last 9 years including supporting the work of neihbourhood agencies, housing associations, councils and the police service. 

My experience of hosting more than 22 mediations have included disputes involving the following:

• special needs provsion of children and young people
• personnel education disputes 
• neighbourhood disagreements
• police and community mediations
• boundary disputes
• noise related disputes
• small claims mediation  

I conduct common sense practical mediations creating a fair and relaxed enviroment for all parties. I can also support parties by offering creative approaches that may not have been considered before.
