Following transfer to the Bar from the Roll of Solicitors, Stephane has a foundation and knowledge base in all areas of personal injury, business and commerical law, property, private family law and employment law. He is unambiguous in his advice and strives to achieve clear communication with his clients, setting ambitious but realistic goals.
Stephane was previously a solicitor-advocate (civil proceedings) specializing in dispute resolution, with several years of experience, having qualified in 2012. He was instructed in relation to the resolution of a wide range of disputes from low to high value, across the areas of commercial litigation, personal injury, clinical negligence, property litigation, consumer claims and commercial debt recovery.
Stephane is an exceptionally committed dispute resolution lawyer and leaves no stone unturned in his efforts to achieve favorable outcomes. He is a skilled and forceful advocate and frequently appears at hearings in both the County Court and the High Court, and regularly attends settlement meetings and mediations.
Stephane combines his busy dispute resolution practice with an academic interest in the law. He lectures in tort and contract law, civil and commercial litigation and advocacy at BPP University. He has also undertaking a PhD course with Lancaster University to conduct in depth research into access to justice.

Areas of Expertise
Stephane is instructed at all stages of litigation involving road traffic accidents, including cases involving fraud and low velocity impact. Stephane is also regularly instructed in cases involving credit hire and is familiar with the issues that commonly arise in such cases.
Stephane is experienced in providing advice on both liability and quantum, and also regularly appears in all stages of proceedings including allocation hearings, costs and case management hearings, application hearings and trials. Stephane’s experience of litigation means that he is familiar with cases that fall both within and outside of the Pre-action Protocol for Personal Injuries arising from Road Traffic Accidents.
Business and Commercial
Stephane practises in all areas of commercial and chancery law, with a particular emphasis in commercial and consumer contract disputes. He accepts instructions to advise in conference, to draft pleadings and to undertake court appearances at all levels. Stephane regularly appears in the Bussines and Property Courts both in Leeds and Manchester. Stephane also appears in mediations, negotiations and joint-settlement meetings, where his practical outlook and ability to think laterally are crucial to success.
Stephane’s practice also includes personal and corporate insolvency, and he regularly appears in the Applications List, as well as in the High Court and County Court. He is frequently briefed in respect of a variety of applications in insolvency proceedings.
Stephane can advise on tactics and procedure before a contract is terminated. He can provide advice and assistance in progressing claims, assessing and presenting claims for damages, and resolving disputes without litigation.

Stephane has a keen interest in cases inolving consumer rights. He is regularly brief by Claimants and Defendants in cases under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, EU Regulations and the Consumer Credit Act. These cases cover a wide range of topics including flight delay, faulty goods, rejection of goods and breaches of regulated finance agreements.
Costs & Litigation
Stephane’s costs practice covers the complete range of inter partes costs matters, from representing clients on complex or high value detailed assessments, through technical arguments concerning the validity of retainers, to disputes about insurance premiums and other similar matters. Stephane regularly acts for both receiving and paying parties.
Stephane also assists solicitors seeking to recover costs from their clients and by clients seeking to resist paying such costs, in complex and high value cases.
In respect of all costs maters Stephane is able to provide both drafting and advisory work, whether on an individual or general basis.
Stephane has vast exprience of property matters, mainly taking instructions from private, corporate and social landlords as well as secured lenders. Work in this area includes the following;

Stephane is able to advise and represent clients in all stages of Financial Remedy Proceedings and accepts instructions from both private and publicly funded clients. He is known for his pragmatic, straight-talking approach.
Stephane has a growing clinical negligence practice. He has experience drafting pleadings, attending costs and case management hearings and assisting in the drafting of schedules, advising on liability, causation and quantum and negotiating at joint settlement meetings in all matters arising out of clinical negligence. She accepts instructions for accidents arising out of both public and private healthcare.
