Audrey has conducted over 150 mediations almost all of which have been successful.
During her years as a barrister, then a solicitor and finally as a family and civil circuit judge she has had first hand experience of how expensive, time consuming and emotionally draining litigation can be and how rewarding a mediated solution is for all the parties.
Audrey is an Associate Member of the Civil Mediation Council which is relevant to her work as a civil and commercial mediator.
A strong advocate of mediation Audrey believes that almost every case, whatever the issues, the number of parties, the complexity, can be resolved through mediation. With her legal background Audrey's skills can be transferred into any subject area.
Turning to recent developments in the law Audrey is keen to say how pleased she was when “No Fault” divorce was introduced in April 2022. She believes this should lead to less acrimonious separations and therefore better financial outcomes for the parties.
With this in mind Audrey believes that mediation has become even more important enabling couples to resolve their financial issues without reducing the money available to maintain the family and themselves. Having to pay out the often very substantial costs of litigation is in Audrey’s opinion a loss of money which could be better used to support the parties and their children.
Audrey is particularly keen to help parties of moderate means where the way in which their capital, income and pensions are divided after a divorce for their short and longer term maintenance and that of their children, is vitally important.

Audrey is also a trained Family Mediator. During her career as a solicitor, barrister and a circuit judge she had extensive experience in family matters. These included disputes in the family court over the parties' financial affairs, their children and on occasions concerned vulnerable people with mental health issues which were sometimes dealt with by the Court of Protection.

Personal
Audrey qualified as a civil mediator with Clerksroom in 2006 and as a family mediator with ADR in the summer of 2010.
Audrey has had a long and varied legal career dealing with almost every type of dispute whether civil or family. Her work as a judge extended her knowledge of human nature and behaviour. This has enabled her to assess parties’ strengths and weaknesses. With these in mind she is able to get parties to work towards a mediated agreement at the mediation appointment.
Audrey is married with three adult children and nine grandchildren ranging in age from eleven to early twenties. She is lucky to be able to see them frequently and they play an important part in keeping her well up to date and her feet firmly on the ground.
