Ella Cantor-Freedman General Information Ella is an experienced practitioner with over 20 years of experience in family law matters. She is routinely instructed in complex private and public family law disputes and has particular expertise in representing vulnerable clients. Ella is known for her sympathetic approach to clients. Each case is approached as sensitively as the first whilst robustly protecting clients’ interests in the courtroom. A skilful negotiator, Ella uses her best endeavours wherever possible to achieve a successful resolution to protect clients from what could otherwise be costly and protracted proceedings. Ella has been approved by the Bar Council to undertake public access work. She is regularly instructed to represent parents involved in complex private law proceedings dealing with issues such as domestic violence, substance misuse, sexual abuse, emotional/psychological harm and risk of abduction. Divorce and Financial Relief Proceedings Ella has a particular interest in divorce and financial relief proceedings. She is instructed from the preliminary stages (conferences with clients prior to proceedings being issued, First Directions Appointments) through to and including final hearings. Ella often represents parties in both their private law and financial remedy proceedings, providing continuity of counsel. Family Law Ella has appeared on television and radio to contribute to discussions about family law legislation. Appearances include the BBC World Service, BBC Radio 4 and BBC News South East.
