Dominic Cooper General Information Dominic practises in family and general common law. He is a tenacious advocate with an approachable, friendly and sympathetic manner towards clients. Called to the bar in 2002, Dominic cross-qualified as a solicitor in 2004, working as a high street solicitor in respected local firms and in-house before practising independently on his own account since 2010. His experience of running a solicitor's firm means he is approachable and has the excellent client care skills that come from a career as a busy high street practitioner. Dominic has a good rapport and puts clients at ease whilst using his impressive knowledge of the relevant legal and procedural rules to fearlessly fight his clients' corners. In 2020, Dominic became one of only 150 Bar Standards Board authorised and regulated "entities" offering advocacy and advice services both to the public and to solicitors' firms as a solicitor-advocate. His experience and expertise in having navigated the regulatory framework of setting up a BSB entity and dealing with the run-off of an SRA-regulated firm allow Dominic to offer advice and consultancy to lawyers seeking to take advantage of the new legal regulatory environment. Dominic is willing to accept legal aid instructions for family law cases where appropriate.
