Before being called to the bar in July 2008 and starting her practice as a barrister, Paula worked extensively in Property Law. She also enjoyed a very successful career as Head of Securities within Santander UK, heading up a team of 40 staff covering various projects and advising on legal issues in relation to the bank’s security. This role involved extensive legal research and document drafting on behalf of the bank and advising in relation to security issues and risks.
With a keen eye for detail, Paula prides herself on her friendly and pragmatic approach to litigation. She does her best to make herself available to discuss any problems and issues with instructing solicitors on the phone and is happy to give telephone advice where appropriate.
Often complimented on her ability to make clients feel at ease with her and the legal situation, Paula will always seek to obtain the best settlement possible.
Paula is happy to attend court for either claimant or defendant matters at all levels ranging from infant settlement approvals, CMCs, small claims, applications, Stage 3 hearings and all levels of fast track and multi-track trials. Public Access qualified, she accepts instructions directly from members of the public and solicitors.
Areas of law
Paula has travelled extensively throughout her life. This has ranged from studying primates in South Africa and Nigeria, to working for a Humanitarian Aid Organisation in Afghanistan and negotiating and building strong relations with local commanders in order to gain access to remote areas to allow the build of medical field posts.
Now settled in the UK, Paula enjoys spending time walking her dogs and riding her horses in her spare time.
