Clinical Background / Experience
Before qualifying as a lawyer, Peter worked as a State Registered Paramedic. Peter was (in the early 1990s) one of the youngest Paramedics in the UK and predominantly worked for the North East Ambulance Service NHS Trust. He has delivered babies, and has experience of providing advanced adult and paediatric life support (intubation, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, drug and intravenous therapy) in the most diverse of scenarios - including at multi-vehicle road traffic accidents, industrial accidents and even murder and attempted murder scenes. Whilst working for the North East Ambulance Service, Peter received formal recognition from both doctors and Trust management for saving life. Before leaving the Trust, Peter represented the service in a fly-on-the-wall documentary on Sky TV: 'Rescue Medics' and completed a Bachelor of Health Science Degree. Peter's final degree dissertation resulted in immediate Trust-wide change to the cardiac arrest drug protocol - in part, influenced by Peter's experience of working overseas as a Paramedic in the USA, Middle and Far East, including a year working as a Paramedic at the Royal Brunei Polo Club, for the Sultan of Brunei.
Outside the office:
Peter is married with two teenage children. A lifelong Newcastle United fan, and registered F.A. Football Coach, Peter has, over the years, enjoyed playing, coaching and now watching his favourite sport. “The barrister your company appointed to act on my behalf Mr Peter Wade, was at all times extremely professional and thorough in dealing with all aspects of my hearing. Indeed he went through every detail of my evidence to ensure that I had a successful outcome to my case in court. Having never attended court before he made both myself and my wife comfortable and confident throughout the hearing. His dedication and time he had spent in reviewing all of the paperwork prior to the hearing, led to a swift and positive outcome, for which we are extremely grateful.”

“The way you’ve handled the sensitive issues surrounding my father-in-law’s death, and how we’ve been treated with genuine compassion… As for the representation at the Inquest, it would have been a whitewash without your support. It was a refreshing change to be treat by someone with such compassion, professionalism and above all, care. ”

“Peter was a very popular solicitor within our team at Longden Walker & Renney Solicitors. This allied with his meticulous case work and client care led to his promotion as Director within the practice. We were sorry to see him go, but wish him every success in his new endeavours. ”

“In my role as Costs Draftsman I have seen a number of files from Peters case load from start to conclusion when drafting bills of costs and dealing with the assessment process. It was very apparent that Peter had exceptional file management and drafting skills. Letters of Claim were of the highest quality. Letters of instructions to experts were drafted skilfully which no doubt greatly assisted experts to focus on the complex issues to be addressed. His client care was excellent. I know of numerous instances in which Peter had to deal with very challenging Clients. Peter was always professional and dealt with clients compassionately whilst ensuring they were provided with clear advice despite the complexity of the legal and medical issues involved. Peter and I dealt with several catastrophic injury clinical negligence cases at the CCMC stage. Peter Wade would attend as advocate to deal with directions and help support any arguments in respect of proportionality to secure the best possible budget for the ongoing claim. I was always very impressed with Peters advocacy skills”

“The tragic and unexpected loss of a dear brother, whilst in hospital engendered a need to consult a solicitor who specialised in coroners’ inquests. I was fortunate to be referred to Mr Peter Wade of Inquest Legal, whose dedicated professionalism was evident from our first meeting. Peter’s previous medical training ensured his significant understanding in his scrutiny of medical notes. He synthesised an array of information in a detailed, logical way for our benefit. Peter was always approachable and warmly supportive, showing a sympathetic awareness of our distress. I would highly recommend Peter’s expertise for any family going through the minefield of a coroner’s inquest.”
