Prior to becoming a solicitor Matthew qualified as a software engineer specialising in large-scale database design, and remains a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Matthew is particularly known as one of the leading experts in the UK on Party Walls and disputes arising out of basement extensions. He is the author of Practical Party Walls (2014) and The Law and Practice of Basement Extensions (2016).
