“I pride myself in having all of these qualities, together with good people skills and the ability to be decisive, and to help others make decisions.

“In addition to my legal skills, I have been lucky enough to travel widely and meet people from all walks of life. This enables me to take a broad perspective on disputes and to relate not only to the legal issues, but also to the underlying strategic and personal issues.

“Some of the areas I specialise in, such as discrimination, can be particularly sensitive. They therefore need handling in an equal sensitive manner, with tact, understanding and calm control.”

Recent feedback

“A skilled, empathetic mediator who commands respect and is willing to go the extra mile to build consensus.”  Tony Murphy 18/11/10.

“I can thoroughly recommend Cherie Booth QC as an expert mediator.

“Miss Booth QC conducted a particularly difficult and sensitive mediation with skill, compassion, tactfulness and drive and direction. She was able to cut through the legal issues and get the parties talking sensibly and courteously to each other, whereas in the past much acrimony had flowed.

“She moved the parties, who were locked in very serious and potentially expensive High Court proceedings, to a very amicable resolution. That took great skill. Her tact, strategy, tactics and her ‘touch’ in dealing with difficult parties – including insurers, who were very loathe to part with any money – was a testament to Miss Booth’s expertise and expert handling.

“She grasped the legal issues in what was a complex and document-heavy case and moved quickly to getting the parties to a resolution with several items being agreed that certainly my client, the claimant, could never have reached from any legal proceedings. The result was more than my client could ever have hoped for.

“The mediation was handled in such a manner that the parties did not antagonise each other, nor did they posture, and this was clearly down to the quality of the mediator.

“Our Counsel and my client were extremely pleased and grateful to Miss Booth for her skills in mediating this very difficult matter – to such a great outcome.”
