Common Public Access Questions:

Instructing a barrister at an early stage can help resolve a problem quickly and efficiently, often without going anywhere near the door of a court. But if the dispute continues, barristers have the advocacy skills to represent their client's best interests, whether in court or a tribunal, or at an arbitration or mediation. Recent rule changes, to the way in which barristers work, mean that the Bar is more accessible than ever.

"Dear Mr. [Rory] Mulchrone, You provided me pro bono advice on 7th November 2012 through the BPBU. The disputed matter pertained to the 2009/10 PhD examination at Coventry University. At that time the case was subject to Office of Independent Adjudication (OIA) processes. The OIA process concluded on 21st January 2014 and the outcome was reasonable. The OIA recommended compensation of 22,901. The University also provided a letter that reveals; PhD examination was inconclusive due to substantial shortcomings in the examination process. In addition to informing you about the outcome I thank you for your time and advice. Your practical advice allowed me to present a suitable defence against the University... Thank you again and all the very best. "

"This is my first year of instructing Jonathan Dingle and I have no doubt that it is the start of a long relationship with the whole of the firm. I cannot recommend him enough clarity, speed and depth and most of all sound and practical advice. He has an innate ability to help my Armed Forces clients and I will be recommending him to the rest of the firm for all our clients here at Bower and Bailey."
